From time to time I’ve been guilty of hoarding my invoices. @_@ Great Bit of advice. Thanks!

Thanks, Jacob. Great that you ‘collect’ them – even better when you collect on them!
Best to you, Robin

Spot on. Invoicing late tends to diminish the value of the services provided because the emotion associated with the value has diminished with time.

Thanks, Ben. “Invoicing late” sounds like a financial oxymoron!
You raise a valuable point about connecting the value of the service with the price paid. Excellent!

Finishing a big design project is often quite a relief. I’ve been guilty of leaving the invoicing simply because I was relieved to finished the project and felt that invoicing was the “easy” part of the job and I could invoice “at any time”. Often leaving it weeks before sending it out.

So true, John. I’ve experienced that feeling of relief many times – in the past.
Thanks for dropping by, bro.

Thanks for a great episode of Black Chair.
I definately agree. If you want return business, you have to be easy to do business with and if you want your product valued, you need to demonstrate respect for the person buying it.
In my experience efficient invoicing also encourges efficient payment. An added bonus for impressing your clients with your good business processes!

Kathleen
